Althon Pre-fitted Headwall Accessories

Althon are able to pre-fit flow control devices such as flap valves, penstocks and Wastop valves to our precast headwalls.

All accessories are factory fitted at our works meaning the concrete does not have to be drilled on site. This saves time on the installation and has great health and safety benefits.

Along with other factory fitted accessories such as Kee Klamp handrails and a range of grating configurations our headwalls can be lifted straight from a delivery vehicle and installed very quickly and efficiently.

Junction 16 - 19 M6 Smart Motorway

Althon have recently supplied several hundred metres of our concrete slot drainage channel to the M6 Smart Motorway project.

The channel is manufactured in 4 metre lengths for fast and efficient installation and there are options for both D400 and F900 load classes as well as a range of accessories, outlet units and inspection chambers.

The site installation team commented as follows :

“We are finding the installation of these units extremely efficient and after only starting the works on Tuesday, we will have completed approximately 110m by this weekend”

New Range of Tidal Flap Valves

We have recently launched a new range of HDPE wall mounted tidal flap valves. Our tidal flap valves are ideally suited for applications where the valve will be constantly submerged or for situations when the valve will be submerged for significant periods of time.

1200mm Inline Penstocks

Althon have produced five 1200mm inline penstocks for a waste water treatment works. The 1200mm valves were designed and manufactured to order and are some of the largest ever supplied in the UK.

The valves were designed with 1200mm connecting pipework integral to the penstock and will be operated by actuators also supplied by Althon.

NEW Range of Rectangular Precast Headwalls

Althon have launched a new range of rectangular precast concrete headwalls.

RSFA Rectangular Headwalls are Sewers for Adoption 7^th Edition compliant precast concrete headwalls for outfalls discharging into ponds, swales, ditches beaches and rivers.

RSFA headwalls come with the option of two thicknesses of toe (300mm & 500mm) each of which is available in three depths. 

RSFA headwalls are supplied complete with Kee Klamp® Handrail to the back wall and horizontal sections of the wing walls, a galvanised steel access ladder and a self-closing gate with padlock facility above. The backwall of the headwall can accommodate correctly sized Sewers for Adoption compliant hinged outfall safety grille.

All our rectangular headwalls are in accordance with Severn Trent Water Standard detail STD6002
